Learning and Development
Our whole approach focuses on creating a fun yet educational environment for children to be in.
We recognise that parents are a child’s first educators and we aim to build on the learning that each child brings to the nursery.
Staff observe each child’s strengths, developmental needs and interests and uses them to plan appropriate learning experiences for each child.
An individual learning plan is also devised for each child and observations are used to build up a profile of each child’s growth and development during their time at nursery. This is presented to you at the end of the nursery year along with a summative report (summarising your child's current learning development), or in the case of children going to school, a transition record that will also be passed on to their primary 1 teacher.
Promoting Positive Behaviour
Our nursery follows a number ‘golden rules’ to promote positive behaviour:
- We are kind and gentle to one another
- We are helpful
- We use our quiet voices
- We take care of things
- We listen to other people
- We share and take turns
Children are respected and valued at all times and parents will always be notified if their child is experiencing difficulties.
